As I embark on my personal development journey, I have the opportunity to learn about how the mind works and the ways to adopt a positive mental attitude in the pursuit of achieving a goal.
I observed and learned of a process to follow in the attainment of the desired goal. the steps one is advised to take are very simple and quite easy to undertake with the right attitude in place.
What is first highly recommended is to think of what you want, deciding on a particular goal to start working on, the next step is to write the goal down on a piece of paper, this makes it concrete and it feels like signing a contract with yourself.
Take the piece of paper and carry with you everywhere you go, you could place it in your wallet/purse. the main thing is to place it somewhere that you can get to see it over and over again. Looking at it cheerfully all day and reading at right before you go to sleep. This repetition creates in your mind mental images of your goal and starts conditioning the subconscious mind to start working on your behalf. As we know know many wise people have since said that we are what we think about all day.
It is also important to note that when we have our goal set and written down, we should go ahead and fuse with it and think of it in positive terms as if we have already achieved it. Fear may attempt to pay us a visit and that’s when we replace the fear mentality with the goal that we are seeking. the realisation that when we embrace the idea of how worthwhile it will be to achieve the goal we shall therefore start the process in ourselves of acting as if it was impossible to fail.
Thinking of how the goal will be realised is a futile approach, as long as you know where you are going and taking actions steps towards achieving your goal is far way better to starting the journey. You will discover that new ideas, intuition, nudges will follow in leading you to the path that gets you closer to your goal. people will show up, circumstances may change and you will become aware of opportunities that you can avail yourself in pursuit of your goal.
Taking consistent actions in the attainment of your goal, going the extra mile and persisting even when the end is not in sight is a demonstration of faith. Doing the work like you have never done before sets the tone of your likelihood to achieving your goal.
As Earl Nightingale spoke about the carpenter son in Jerusalem – Ask and it is given, seek and you shall find ,knock and the door will be opened. This is a clear demonstration of how Purpose and belief work hand in hand in achieving our goals.
